Congratulations to Boris and Christane Bizjak winners of the Suzuki Car Draw.
Winners are certainly grinners, especially when you’ve won a Suzuki Celerio.
It’s even better when you’ve won by supporting a very special cause.
Such is the case of Boris and Christane Bizjak from Brighton Qld when they supported the Pozieres Remembrance Associations “Buy a Brick for the Pozieres Memorial Park” campaign.
Boris and Christane Bizjak stated to Suzuki that at the time of purchasing their Brick they were not aware of the Suzuki Car Draw that took place on ANZAC day at the NRL Storm vs Warriors game in Melbourne. Boris said that after visiting the Battle Fields of the Somme they decided to buy their 3yr old son Luca a Brick in memory of his mother’s Great Great Uncle Lieutenant Thomas Ridley MC; DCM fighting at Pozieres and was also awarded (noted in Nat Archives) the Medal of Saint George 4th Class (Russian Decoration). He died at Rouen 10/9/1918 and the family plan to pay their respects to his grave site in the near future.
Boris and Christane, our President Barry Gracey and his wife Von, Secretary Treasurer, of Pozieres Remembrance Assoc send their congratulations to you, all the way from Pozieres France.
The main reason our Association has reached the level of being able to buy the land in France that our Memorial Park covers, is due to the magnificent support of Suzuki Australia, who also donated a vehicle (painted with poppies) to us so we could get out and talk to people about our brave Men.
If you would like to help us by letting them know that their support for the Men of Pozieres and our Associations efforts are much appreciated, you could email the General Manager Mr Andrew Moore on firstname.lastname@example.org
This would be a great help to us, as we hope to have the support of Suzuki Australia into the future.
