From the Secretaries Desk 5th September 2017

We are getting close to our target. So this page will be updated often with what we have achieved and what is happening.

Last year we paid for the land that to a major portion out of our budget.

We officially opened the Memorial Park on the 23rd July 2016 on the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Pozieres.

On the land there were 7000 white crosses one for every man that gave his life during the Battle of Pozieres out of the 7000 crosses 4112 represented the missing that have no know grave. So for the first time in 100 years these men had a cross.

This year while in Pozieres we had lengthy talks with various people about what will happen next year.

We are waiting on plans from the Landscapers regarding the gardens as soon as they come to hand I will put them up on this page.

We also discussed costs regarding the roses and other plants. We were told that if we purchased bare root roses the cost would be so much cheaper.  We have decided to go that way.

The Landscaper told us that the best time to plant them was November December this year so they would be in bloom for July 2018.

So we are now waiting on the plans so we can order the roses and have them planted this year.

We are also in contact with a supplier regarding the bricks that you have purchased.

Depending on cost’s it will be decided if we have them done here in Australia or have them done in France.

Hope this small article helps but we still need your support. If you have not purchased a brick you may like to consider doing so or even making a donation every penny helps.

This year on the 21st July the Australian War Animal Memorial Organisation (AWMO) opened the first overseas Memorial to Animal’s of Australia and All Nations.  This was done on land the we donated to (AWMO) it is a beautiful tribute to all the Animals of WW1
