A Wonderful donation to the Son et Lumiere

Fay O’Keeffe, Banora Point NSW donates a cosy commemorative knitted throw rug to the Digger-Cote 160 organisation who fund and artistically direct the Biennial Sound and Light show (Son et Lumiere) in Pozieres to honour the Australians who liberated their village in 1916.

Fay’s Uncle, Pte Leonard Irvine Hines, KIA at 20 years of age 23/7/1916 during The Battle for Pozieres and remains amongst the 4,112 missing heroes. Family members will be taking the throw rug to Pozieres to be raffled on 23 July 2016 and the winner will be announced at the start of the Sound & Light Show.

Fay, 82, an avid knitter provided the knitted poppy pattern for our 7000 poppies for Pozieres and now has made a beautiful keepsake in the Shades of our Forces in five symbolic colours as published by Better Homes & Gardens Magazine, Australia.
